YBS Charitable Foundation

We are pleased to announce that we have received a grant of £2,000 from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation towards our Changing Places project, which will provide changing facilities for older children and adults with disabilities.  We are very grateful to the YBS for their support for this very positive project.

We are pleased to announce that Tesco has chosen the Regen Centre's Changing Places project as one of its Bags for Help Grant's Scheme beneficiaries.  You can support the Regen Centre's project by shopping and voting at Tesco Selby and Brayton in September and October.  The Changing Places project will provide facilities for older children and adults with disabilities.

Persimmon Homes

Duke of York Community Initiative Conference

The Regen Centre was proud to host the 2016 Duke of York Community Initiative conference on 12 October.  The conference was attended by over 80 people, including representatives of the winners of the 2015 Community Initiative Award, as well as members of the DOY Community Initiative board and DOY Award assessors.  The keynote speaker was Ed Anderson, a former High Sheriff of West Yorkshire and chairman of the Yorksghire Building Society.

Norman Collinson Trust

The Norman Collinson Charitable Trust has awarded the Regen Centre £500 towards our current efforts to raise £12,500 to enable us to provide changing facilities at the Centre for adults and older children with disabilities.  We are very grateful for this award.  If you would like to donate towards this very worthwhile project, please contact us on 01757 248849.

Riccall Carnival 2016

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved with Riccall Canrival this year. The event was a huge success and we have various "thank yous" we'd like to give out. To start with, all the carnival organisers, stall owners, and staff at the centre who helped make the carnival happen. They work hard to make sure everything is in place before and during the event. Of course, we would also like to thank everyone in the community who attended, we really do love seeing the community come together. It makes everything worth it. Mark Seabrooke

It is with great sadness that we have received news of the death of Mark Seabrooke.  Mark was a great supporter of the Regen Centre during its formative years when his then wife, Alison, was the driving force behind the Centre's development and subsequent early operation.  We send our condolences to all his friends and relatives, particularly Grace, Max, Samuel, Alison, Mary and Spencer.

2016 Fund-raising

In 2015 we raised over £16,000 in fund-raising.  This money is being used to refurbish inside and outside areas of the Centre and to purchase new capital equipment, such as a portable PA System.  In 2016, we hope to raise £20,000 from our fund-raising efforts.  If you have any ideas or can help in any way, please let us know.

As the year draws to a close, the time has come for us to say goodbye to 2015 and prepare for the new year. We really want to express how grateful we are for all the support we have received from the community over the last year. It’s been wonderful being a part of so many fantastic events and we are looking forward to many more already in the works for next year. We have had a very busy and exciting year. We’ve celebrated 13 new couples, 10 christenings, along with a further 31 events including numerous amateur boxing nights from Mickeys Boxing Academy Selby, two fantastic shows from Riccallish Allsorts, a Charity Casino Night, our annual Easter Egg-rolling...
