Beavers

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.

Beavers is aimed at boys and girls aged 6-8 years.

Sessions are held on Thursday from 5.15-6.15pm.

Riccall Brownies

  • Riccall Brownies is for girls aged between 7 and 10 who want to have fun and adventures!

We meet at the Regen Centre in Riccall during term time and our weekly meetings are full of challenges, games, crafts, outdoor activities and we work towards many different badges.  We go on Pack Holidays, Day Trips and to an annual Campfire.

Chelle's Dance Academy

Chelle's Dance Academy is a professional dance teaching academy who provide professional training in all styles of dance and theatrical stage work at affordable prices.

The school specialises in private one-to-one teaching, and dance classes for groups of students with the opportunity for students to compete in national competitions, and to accomplish fully qualified status with the major dance societies through examinations.

Advanced Freestyle classes are held during term-time from 7pm at £6 per session.

City Kickers Cubs Riccall-Regen-Centre

Cubs

Cubs is the second section of the Scouting movement, originally started in 1916 for younger brothers who wanted a 'look-in'. In nearly a century, the section has constantly evolved and adapted its programme and methods to meet the changing needs of each generation of young people, and these days admits girls as well as boys.

Cubs is aimed at boys and girls aged 8-10 years.

Jujitsu

Jujitsu is a Japanses martial art that teaches self-defence whilst also improving self-discipline, attitude, self-control, and personal health.

Classes are taught by a qualified Black Belt instructor who has all attained qualifications in First Aid and Child Protection, as well as instructor insurance through our Martial Arts Association. All instructors have also been CRB checked.

Sessions are held on Tuesday from 6-7pm.

 
Riccall Pre-School

Riccall Pre-School

Riccall Pre-School offers a safe, secure and stimulating environment giving children the opportunity to socialise with other children and learn how to join in with others.

Our staff are highly qualified and experienced in dealing with children of all abilities up to five years of age and each child is allocated their own personal key carer who is responsible for monitoring their progress. Some of our practitioners are trained in using basic Makaton Signing and Portage.

Six areas of learning and development meet with OFSTED Regulations and include:-

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development

In addition certain sessions are held outdoors at Skipwith Common to encourage different learning opportunities and experiences in the natural world. Sessions last just over 2 hours and comprise of walks, climbing, snack time, singing, mark making and imaginative play.

Riccall Pre-school is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and because of this all parents and carers are regarded as members also having full participatory rights which include the right to be valued, respected, be informed, consulted, involved and included at all levels. Parents and carers, as the first and most important educators of their children, are encouraged to work with us to ensure children benefit the most. Areas they can help are outlined in our prospectus.

During pre-school sessions we are able to provide snacks for the children which encourage healthy eating.

We are the 1st Riccall Scout Group. We meet on Thursday evenings at The Regen Centre.

Tot Stop

A parent-run toddler group for parents and guardians to make friends and chat with tea and cake while the little ones play. New-comers are always welcome and the group also benefits from regular vists from the local health visitor.

Sessions are on Tuesday from 1-3pm.
